Cellist Beccue Earns Top PASF Honors

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student musician Tim Beccue ’18 (cello) won first place ($5,000) in the instrumental honors April 29 at the (PASF) finals. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student pianist Zelin Luan received honorable mention.
Beccue, who graduates May 5 as the Outstanding Senior in Physics, played Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor by Camille Saint-Saëns. The Westlake Village resident won third place in 2017 and honorable mention in in 2015. He won the , earning $10,000 in annual music scholarship funds (up to $40,000 over four years) to study at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
Established in 1982, the PASF provides financial support to music students studying in the Santa Barbara area who demonstrate strong professional potential.
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student musicians have historically performed well for the PASF, including last year’s sweep of the top three instrumental honors with Erik Fauss ’18 (viola) taking first place and Lalia Mangione ’17 (violin) winning second place.
Beccue, Fauss and Sierra Farrar (violin) will be attending the this summer as a preformed ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ chamber ensemble.
